Real Madrid Want to Sign Croatian Midfielder Ivan Rakitic

Spanish journalist Paco González reported this rumor in his radio show 'Tiempo de Juego'

Manuel Queimadelos Alonso

Ivan Rakitic is having a very good season for Sevilla FC. In fact, this is arguably the best season of his career. And that is enough for some reporters to link him with Real Madrid. Paco González -famous Spanish journalist who appears to have a good relationship with Florentino Pérez- reported this night that Real Madrid want to sign Rakitic away from Sevilla.

It should not be hard to get that transfer, as Rakitic's contract expires next 2015 and he has yet to sign an extension. Apparently, and according to González, Atlético de Madrid would also want to sign him, but Rakitic would rather sign for los blancos.

If he finally signs with Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti will have a deep midfield, and players like Isco or Illarramendi will have to fight very hard to find some minutes. Still, it would arguably be a very good signing for a reasonable price.
