Some Real Madrid fans pushed the panic button. And they did it for a reason. Cristiano Ronaldo had to leave the game with what appeared to be a lower-body injury. Luckily enough for Real Madrid, spokesman Emilio Butragueño admitted that he should be fine and that his substitution was just a matter of caution.
Minutes earlier, he scored Real Madrid's third goal off a brilliant recovery and assist by Luka Modric. Ronaldo dribbled goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller and scored with his left foot what could be the goal that makes things a lot easier for his team.
Cristiano Ronaldo will likely be available for Real's crucial Liga BBVA game against Real Sociedad. And considering Cristiano's hunger, he will also play the second leg at the Signal-Iduna Park. Robert Lewandowski will be back for his team, but a 4-1 score will not be enough for the German club this time after a comfortable 3-0 win by los blancos at the Bernabéu.
UPDATE 23:23 CET: Cristiano Ronaldo himself confirmed that he's OK: "All good, it was just a precaution".
