Twelve Year Anniversary of the Ninth Champions League Title

Let's all bask in Zizou's majesty.

In case you missed it, today marks the 12 year anniversary of Real Madrid's ninth Champions League/European Cup title. The game ended in a tight 2-1 victory for the men in white, but all that everyone remembers is this preposterous volley from legend Zinedine Zidane which proved to be the winning goal and one of the greatest goals of all time.

This might just be the finest struck ball I've ever seen in my entire life. We can't underestimate just how difficult this shot was, what a goal! To not only time your swing perfectly, hit it with the sweet spot of your foot, guide it accurately with the proper amount of force and stay as cool as the other side of the pillow on the biggest stage in the world takes a special kind of person. I bow down to ZZ.

Hopefully this year's version of Real Madrid will be able to properly celebrate the novena by lifting the decima which has proven to be so elusive. Onward!
