According to Spanish radio station Cadena COPE, Real Madrid are finally out of the race for Ivan Rakitic's signing. The directors believe the Croatian midfielder has an agreement with Atlético de Madrid to join Simeone's squad next season and also consider that it would be really hard to make room for him after Di María and Modric's performances this season.
Therefore, Real Madrid should still try to sign another midfielder for next season unless Ancelotti's confidence on Asier Illarramendi grows. Khedira and Isco will also be able to play in the center midfield next season, as Real Madrid's technicall staff are really confident of Isco's future in that position.
This also means that Ángel Di María will likely stay in the Spanish capital next season after being named Real Madrid's MVP in the Champions League Final. The Argentinian has been brilliant in the midfield this season and that might be where his future in the club is.
