Carlo Ancelotti: "Bale and Carvajal are not available against Valladolid"

Even though Asier Illarramendi clearly needs more minutes if he is going to start in the Champions League Final, Carlo Ancelotti said that Modric's likely return to the lineup could keep Illarra out, meaning Alonso will get another start.

Illarramendi has the same features that Xabi Alonso has. He did not play well against Valencia but that doesn't change the future. I will give him minutes before the Final, but I'm not sure about tomorrow. I need to see how Modric is, and Khedira is available and could have minutes against Valladolid. If Khedira does not play a lot tomorrow, we will play a little match for him and Arbeloa on Thursday.

It's strange. Illarramendi needs to get some rhythm before the Final. And he needs those minutes in Alonso's position, not in Modric's. Yet Ancelotti is starting Xabi Alonso and therefore not letting the team get used to play without him. I'm not sure if this is a smart move.

He also spoke about the rosters' condition.

Cristiano is fine, but he's a bit tired. He will be able to play against Valladolid even though he missed a part of today's session. Carvajal is out with small problems and Bale had a knock against Valencia and is out as well.

With Arbeloa lacking minutes, that means Nacho will likely start at right back.

He has not played a lot but he's done well. He's important today and also in the future because he can play in every position on the defensive line.

He also spoke about Barcelona playing against Atlético on la Liga's last game.

We need to win this game, this is the first one of our three finals in La Liga. We need all nine points. I am sure Barcelona will want to beat Atlético.
