Marco Verratti's agent flies to Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti wants to sign the Italian player, according to Gazzetta.

Claudio Villa

This is not a usual transfer rumor. Gazzetta is reporting that Marco Verratti's agent is flying to Madrid to start negotiating with Real Madrid for the transfer of the Italian midfielder. And apparently, Ancelotti was the one who called Verratti and persuaded him to join Real Madrid.

It should be remembered that Paris Saint-Germain have received a warning over the UEFA Financial Fair Play, and at the same time, they have spent 50M€ on Chelsea's defender David Luiz and will reportedly make an effort for Eden Hazard as well. The French club would want to get another 50M€ for Verratti, and considering the midfielder's potential, it would not be that crazy for Real Madrid to finally find the ideal replacement for Xabi Alonso.

It definitely seems that Real Madrid are committed to sign a midfielder this summer, and the most exciting options for that spot are Pogba, Vidal, Kroos and Verratti, all four linked to los blancos.
