Fabio Coentrao potentially out of the World Cup with groin injury

Real's left back left the game with what seemed to be a serious injury

Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

Portugal are being thrashed by Germany after the referee decided to take over the game and call a questionable penalty kick that put Germany ahead. Shortly after that, Hummels scored the second goal and Pepe got sent off questionably once again.

And now, Fabio Coentrao had to ask for a substitution with a groin injury that looks really bad and could keep him out for the remainder of the World Cup. Portugal will not have it easy to make it through the Group Stage after this blowout win by Germany, but if they want to succeed they will likely have to do it without Fabio Coentrao.

Pepe will also have to miss Portugal's next two games because of his red card, and Cristiano Ronaldo appears to have some physical problems as well. Portugal's chances are not great and the referee just made them a bit worse during today's match against Khedira and company.
