Match Day Ten: Battle Of The Boatengs

New, comments

In an unusual turn of events, today's matches see the Boateng brothers pitted against each other.

Stu Forster

Both were born in Berlin. Both have the same father (out of Ghana). But both have different mothers. And after a brief and turbulent time in Germany's youth teams, Kevin Prince Boateng decided to represent Ghana instead of Germany while brother Jerome lines up for the German National Team.

Interestingly, Kevin Prince Boateng's great-uncle Helmut Rahn scored in Germany's 1954 win against Hungary in the final.

The first time these two lined up against each other was in 2010. It was the first time brothers had lined up opposite each other. Jerome came out on top that time in a 1-0 win for Germany.

In a another story, the Toure brothers, Yaya and Kolo, have returned home after the death of their brother.
