Karim Benzema's contract extension is a "done deal and will be announced after World Cup"

Good news for Karim Benzema, meaning good news for Real Madrid as well

Frederic Hermel reported more news about Karim Benzema on last night's El Chiringuito de Jugones. While this TV show in particular might not be as reliable as some think, Hermel does have some insight on the French striker and is also a commentator for some Real Madrid matches showed on Real Madrid TV.

Karim Benzema is happy and calm because his contract extension is going really, really, really well and it will be announced after the World Cup. The only problem were the wages, but he's been told that he will sign after the World Cup. We don't know yet for how many years this extension will be.

Considering the great World Cup Benzema is playing, it's no surprise to see Real Madrid extending the French striker. After all, if he wasn't a Real Madrid player already, Florentino Pérez would likely try to sign him as well.

Hermel said some other interesting things about French players.

If Pogba signs for PSG, then that would leave the door wide open for Marco Verratti to leave. And it's almost impossible that Griezmann stays with Real Sociedad.
