Real Madrid have made it official. Zinedine Zidane steps down as Ancelotti's assistant coach and takes over Real Madrid Castilla.

Zinedine Zidane will coach Real Madrid Castilla next season. Zizou, who this season was one of Ancelotti's assistant coaches with the first team, will begin a new professional period inside Real Madrid. He will have Santiago Sánchez on his side and he's already working to build the roster for next season.

Real Madrid Castilla will play in the Segunda División B after being relegated in the Liga Adelante last season. Still, Real Madrid hope that the financial problems some Liga Adelante teams like Murcia or Zaragoza are going through could keep Castilla in the Spanish second division. The Segunda División B is not an easy competition, so this will surely be a big test for Zidane and his new coaching staff. Now, Real Madrid fans are waiting to see his coaching style and development as a manager,

Zizou takes, thus, one step further in his preparation to become Real Madrid's head coach one day. After having helped Carlo Ancelotti in the team's direction this season, Zidane will be in charge of the renovation of Castilla's roster together with Santiago Sánchez.

Zidane's coaching will be just another reason to pay attention to Castilla's games next season. We may expect his style to resemble that of Ancelotti's, but he will, for sure, incorporate some details of his own. His knowledge of Real Madrid's youth teams, where his sons play, will also be an asset he will take advantage of.
