James Rodríguez: "It would be a dream to play in Spain"

The Colombian striker dreams about playing in "one of the greatest leagues"

Jamie Squire

Just minutes after destroying Uruguay's dreams of advancing to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Quarterfinals, Colombian attacker James Rodríguez spoke to Spanish TV channel Gol Televisión.

It would be a dream to play in Spain, it's one of the greatest leagues

James Rodríguez probably knows that his name will be linked to Real Madrid and Barcelona. He's playing great this World Cup and has scored 5 goals in just 4 matches. Although James is not a pure striker, he could definitely fill Benzema's shoes when the French isn't available, and considering he's still 22 years old, James could learn a lot if Real Madrid make a move for him.

It is known that Florentino Pérez likes to sign players who perform well at the World Cup, and James is arguably one of the biggest sensations around the world's biggest competition. He spent this season playing for Monaco after the French club paid 45M€ to sign him away from FC Porto.
