Sami Khedira just won the 2014 FIFA World Cup with Germany. He couldn't play in the Final due to an injury picked up right before kick-off, but he played a key part on Germany's success after the Round of 16. The German midfielder hasn't signed his contract extension with Real Madrid just yet, and the club would be willing to part ways with him if he doesn't lower his contract expectations.
Apparently, Arsenal FC would be highly interested in signing Khedira. And according to Sport and British reporter Graeme Bailey, Arsène Wenger's club are confident that they have been able to sign Khedira away from Real Madrid. The deal could be announced soon, as other players are on their way out of the club -Morata and Di María-. It now seems that Real Madrid will rebuild the midfield line trusting that Toni Kroos and Asier Illarramendi will be able to contribute. The British club would be paying close to 30M€ for Khedira, according to Sport.
Arsenal are increasingly confident that they have landed Real Madrid and German star Sami Khedira.
