Real Madrid complete James Rodríguez deal

The Colombian striker will be presented at the Bernabéu this next week

Alexandre Loureiro

Five days ago, we reported that James Rodríguez was going to play for Real Madrid during the 2014-15 season. And it is all but complete. After taking a plane from Medellín to Monaco -stopping in Madrid and Nice first-, the Colombian striker will sign his contract with Real Madrid this very same week. AS Monaco and the Spanish club have reached an agreement for the transfer of the attacker, and the only thing missing is James' signature on Real Madrid's dotted line.

Real Madrid will pay around 80M€ for the player, although that transfer fee could be modified depending on James' success with the club. James will therefore be able to complete a good part of the pre-season with his new club. Rodríguez's role at the squad remains to be seen, but Carlo Ancelotti will likely need to find room for him on his formation.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot will be a Real Madrid player real soon.
