Managing Madrid Videocast, vol. 2: Post-Supercup Overreaction!

Josh and I delve into Real Madrid's disappointing 1-1 draw against Atlético Madrid in the first leg of the Spanish Supercup.

Denis Doyle

Hello and welcome to the second installment of the Managing Madrid videocast! In this episode, recorded just minutes after Real Madrid's disappointing 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Spanish Supercup, Josh and I discuss the match, and reveal our utmost deepest, darkest secrets. (SPOILER ALERT: part of that last sentence is not entirely true).

First, we go into the match analysis. Just kidding! First, I rant about the referee for a little bit (it's short, I promise), and we admit that this is really on us, no matter how aggravated we are. Then we actually talk about the match--including a long discussion about Atleti's goal which I'm really sure will make many of you very angry. (Again, hint: it doesn't exactly flatter Iker). We take some of the positives (hi Toni!) and negatives (hi Marcelo!) from the game and look ahead to the next one.

Finally, we briefly touch on the Sevilla match in the UEFA Supercup, and celebrate the metronomic, insane ability of one Mr. Toni Kroos. We end with a revelation about the future of the podcast (yay!!) and a look ahead generally.
