Real Madrid vs Córdoba, Liga BBVA 2014-15: Projected lineups

The 2014-15 Liga BBVA season kicks-off for Ancelotti and his men, and the Italian coach will be making some important decisions on the team's lineup...

This is only a home game against a recently promoted team. Let's face it, Real Madrid should not struggle one bit against Córdoba. The last two games against Atlético de Madrid weren't good, but Simeone's defensive system is arguably one of the best in the world of football.

And still, Carlo Ancelotti will be making some very important decisions before tonight's match. For example, the Italian coach will pick his starting goalkeeper. Keylor Navas probably deserves a chance to start, but nobody knows what will happen until 19:00 CET. Marca, for example, report that Iker Casillas will start, and so do As. The same happened one year ago, when it was reported that Real Madrid's captain was going to be on goal hours before Diego López's presence in the lineup was announced, so these reports are not as relevant as some might believe.

Other players like Isco or Asier Illarramendi are waiting for a chance as well. Both of them enjoyed a lot of minutes during the pre-season and should be ready to start. Furthermore, their confidence needs a boost after missing most of Real Madrid's three official matches so far. That's why Ancelotti might trust them in such a manageable game against Córdoba.

Real Madrid projected Starting XI: Navas, Arbeloa, Pepe, Varane, Marcelo, Illarramendi, Isco, Kroos, James, Bale, Benzema

Córdoba projected Starting XI: Juan, Gunino, Pantic, Iñigo, Pinillos, Ekeng, Rossi, Cartabia, Silva, Fidel, Havenaar

Have your say. Which players should Ancelotti start this night?
