Real Madrid Vs Córdoba, Liga BBVA 2014-15: Player ratings

A decent but not spectacular win against Córdoba in which Toni Kroos was Real Madrid's most highlighted player.

Denis Doyle

Real Madrid played a really poor match but still got the three points, and that's what Ancelotti is here for.

  • Iker Casillas: 5.5. This wasn't a complicated match for Casillas. Córdoba just had a couple of non-problematic shots on goal, and while Casillas dealt with then just fine, the Andalusian squad could have scored the equalizer right before half time on yet another terrible aerial play by Casillas, who keeps making wrong decisions when the ball is in the air.
  • Álvaro Arbeloa: 5. Carvajal is starting to become really valuable for Real Madrid. Arbeloa just didn't contribute match neither on the defensive nor the offensive end. Decent but not very good performance. Carvajal is better, that's all.
  • Pepe: 6. He covered Ramos's mistakes well, but he wasn't the force everybody is used to see.
  • Sergio Ramos: 5. Córdoba were able to reach Real's box a couple of times, mainly because Ramos was too confident. Still, his aerial game was superb.
  • Marcelo: 5. Another worrying performance by the Brazilian left back, who will have to fill Coentrao's shoes this next month.
  • Toni Kroos: 7. Good display by Kroos playing deep. Alonso didn't play well in that position and Ancelotti might have the perfect replacement for the deep midfielder position.
  • Luka Modric: 6. He still appears to be uncomfortable besides Kroos, as he doesn't have as many touches.
  • James: 6. A bit unsteady, and it should be noted that he wasn't playing on his natural position. Still, James is progressing.
  • Gareth Bale: 5.5. Bale had a three-man mark on him all night long, so his nonproductive performance wasn't his fault. Still, he needs to do better and carry Real's offensive torch while Cristiano gets in perfect shape.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo: 6. Cristiano didn't play well, that's true. But he still scored the goal that put the nail in Córdoba's coffin. Great goal that should give him confidence.
  • Karim Benzema: 6.5. Benzema was one of Madrid's best players. He got the opener and was good with his touches all night long.
  • Isco: 5. He lacks the confidence, something that should not surprise anyone considering that Ancelotti refuses to start him.
  • Carvajal: NA. Carvajal replaced Arbeloa with no much time left.
  • Khedira: NA. Sami played for Madrid again, but he couldn't do much with the time he had.
