Shocking news for Real Madrid. According to well-respected TV channel LaSexta, Xabi Alonso is really close to signing a deal with Bayern Munich. The TV channel reports that Alonso has already reached an agreement with Pep Guardiola's side.

The midfielder did not start against Córdoba last Monday, but that did not surprise anyone as he had played both Supercup derbies against Atlético. Ancelotti is known to admire Alonso's contribution, but it seems that the Italian coach would be willing to build the squad around Toni Kroos instead. In this case, the midfielder would like to leave the Spanish capital and be an important player on Guardiola's side. It will be interesting to see where this goes, but LaSexta's reports about Real Madrid should always be trusted. For example, they broke news of Diego Lopez's departure before any other media outlet. On the other hand, Bayern's favorite newspaper Bild have not reported a single thing about this potential move.

If Alonso does leave, it would not be shocking if Real made a move for another midfielder before the transfer window shuts next Sunday.
