Álvaro Morata is enjoying himself in Turin. He has just recovered from a small knee injured he suffered recently after joining Juventus FC and he's yet to start a match for the bianconeri. Furthermore, even though he wears Juventus' number 9, it will be hard for him to get a starting spot considering that Carlos Tévez and Fernando Llorente seem to be the undisputed striker. And still, Morata said that he's enjoying the trust he lacked when he was a Real Madrid player.
I needed this. It is very important for someone's mentality to see that the coach is talking to you, no matter whether you're the starter or not. It's very important to feel that you can come in and win a match anytime, and that's how I feel here.
It seems that Morata is subtly indicating that Ancelotti wasn't paying much attention to him. Still, Morata did have his chances to impact the game and play well, but he didn't make the best out of them. Look at what Jesé managed to do last season and you'll find out why Ancelotti never trusted Morata that much. It should still be noted that the Spanish striker came in as a substitute in the Champions League Final when Real Madrid were needing a goal, and I can't think of any bigger match than that one to have the coach's trust.
I'm grateful to Real Madrid. I spent there eight years of my life in which I was very happy, but now I'm even happier here. When such a big club came after me, I'm only wishing to be happy here in Turin and help the team winning important trophies.
The rest of the interview dealt with how things are going for him in the Italian club. If you want to read it, you should be able to find it in Marca later today.
