2015 has finally arrived --Happy New Year!-- and, as a result, the players whose contracts finish in June are now free to negotiate and, even, sign with other clubs for the 2015-2016 season.
Sami Khedira, who is claimed to be interested in re-signing, and Fernando Pacheco are the only Real Madrid players in this situation. Therefore, we should not expect too much noise on this issue, but the upcoming months will be very important for the configuration of Real Madrid's roster for the near future, since some important players will finish their contracts in 2016 and 2017.
As our president has stated a few times, it is a usual Real Madrid policy to deal with contract extensions two years before their termination, so the current target should be those players whose contracts end in 2017. However, it would also be natural to expect one-year extensions for those whose contracts finish in 2016. We should not expect any of this to be made public before this season ends, as Pérez only likes to extend his players' contracts during the summer holidays.
Renewal offers or signings of substitutes will be necessary if Los Blancos don't want to see some of their most important men leaving Madrid for free.
