Just minutes ago, Real Madrid released an official statement explaining all the details regarding the FIFA investigation that some of the Spanish media were talking about today. The full report, which can be accessed here (only in Spanish, for now), serves to support Butragueño's words earlier today, when he said Real Madrid are not concerned at all about this issue as they have done no wrong. More specifically, Real Madrid claim that:
- Real Madrid support the rules that protect the proper and healthy development of minors, having always abode by those regulations and favor all investigations devoted to enforce those rules.
- Real Madrid and RFEF have provided FIFA with all the information they have requested, as swiftly as they have been able to do so (the statement even contains a brief summary of this information, broken down by player and clearly explaining why each case follows the rules), and with some extra information regarding the collaboration agreements Real Madrid have reached with some amateur teams in the region.
The last paragraph of the statement expresses Real Madrid's discontent with the way some mass media have treated this case, as they have thrown groundless accusations that are dismantled by this statement.
