Real Madrid news January 27th, 2015: Manchester United could try to interfere with the negotiations over Laporte

  • Although it seemed, in principle, that Marca were the only ones reporting Real Madrid's interest on Aymeric Laporte, the British newspaper Daily Mail are giving credit to this information as well, as they claim that both Real Madrid and Manchester United are going head-to-head for the signing of the 20-year-old centerback. They also point out that Real Madrid could try to sign Iñigo Martínez if they finally don't manage to bring Laporte in, but this looks more like a guess than anything else.

  • The recent Puskas Award winner James Rodríguez was interviewed at FIFA's official website. There, he expressed how happy he is for being a Real Madrid player and that he hopes to remain a merengue for a long time. He also praised the Ballon D'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo and remembered his stellar participation in the World Cup back in June and July 2014.

  • As we reported this morning, Marca are claiming that Real Madrid's managing board consider Zidane to be the natural successor for Carlo Ancelotti in Real Madrid's bench. The Spanish newspaper have published today an interview with Zizou, where he declares that he would extend Ancelotti's contract without a shred of doubt, praises Varane and Benzema and discusses the likely transfer of Paul Pogba to Real Madrid.
