Martin Ødegaard to Real Madrid almost a done deal

Breaking news about the Martin Ødegaard transfer to Real Madrid. The Norwegian hope trained with Castilla yesterday and did the same with Real's first squad today, though there are no pictures of him on Real Madrid's site. Sources within Real Madrid told Managing Madrid that he is almost set to join the club this very same winter, but his father still refuses to accept the deal.

While one of Ødegaard's priorities was to get first-team action, he was impressed by Zinedine Zidane's training methods over at Castilla, and he would now be willing to spend the rest of the season on Real Madrid's second team and wait for his chance during the next pre-season -- possibly being loaned to a first-division club --. His father doesn't agree, as he wants his son to play in the football elite immediately.

Real Madrid want to sign Ødegaard and the player wants to be a Real Madrid player, but his father's influence could ultimately change his mind. That would be the only controversial aspect about a deal that is now close to be completed. If Real Madrid are able to convince Martin Ødegaard's father, the Norwegian-Youtube sensation will become a Real Madrid player very soon.
