Rafa Benítez said in an interview with Cadena SER that Ramos' mistake was the one play which bothered him the most during the Derby. He said that the defender did not need to make that careless pass leading to a very dangerous counterattack by Atlético that ended in the penalty-kick saved by Navas.

Ramos himself answered that comment yesterday saying that everyone makes mistakes and that people "will look at my mistake or the coach's substitutions," also indicating that whoever isn't ready to face criticism "better leave Real Madrid."

Ramos appeared to be bothered by Benítez's words and that's why Real Madrid's manager decided to phone his captain yesterday and explain his words. He did not want Ramos to misread his words and that way Benítez showed that he wants a peaceful and healthy relationship with his captain, according to Radio Marca.

Either way, Ramos' mistake was definitely the worse play of the Derby even if it did not end in a goal by Atlético.
