Martin Ødegaard is having a fairly quiet season so far. Real Madrid decided to keep him with Real Madrid Castilla instead of sending him on loan and now they might be regretting that call, as the Norwegian wonder kid appears to be set to join Bolton Wanderers this winter.
Ødegaard has every right to feel frustrated with his situation considering that this could be an important year in his development as a player. Castilla are playing decent football and while he's had a few highlights on his own, Ødegaard is not very consistent.
A loan deal away from Real Madrid could help him. He is training with Real's first squad often, but he needs playing time in a professional club to grow as a player and reach his potential. It's true that British football could be tough for a player that young, but it would help his development while Castilla try to promote to Segunda.
