Rafa Benítez remained in calm after the 0-4 Real Madrid suffered against Barcelona, saying that they "have to stay together and regain some confidence after this loss that hurts us so badly." The Spanish manager also added that "the second half was much better and we could've made a comeback had Marcelo's shot gone in."
Benítez did not want to speak much about his situation in the club right now. It seems that he could be on the hot seat but he refused to talk about this topic. "Our plan was to attack and that's why I started this team. It obviously did not work out and that's all I can say about the lineup. We turned the ball over and we made important mistakes. It's not all a matter of playing with the right attitude because we tried hard when the second half started."
The fans at the Bernabéu were very unhappy with the team and the players were whistled when the first half ended.
