Projected lineups: Shakhtar vs Real Madrid, Champions League

Will Carvajal get a much-deserved start?

Benítez explained that he is going to make some rotations for tonight's match and he warned that his changes will not be a punishment for those who did not perform well last Saturday. All things considered, it seems that Dani Carvajal will start the match in the right-back position given that Danilo has not been in great form lately.

Shakhtar: Pyatov; Dentinho, Kryvtsov, Rakitskiy, Ismaily; Stepanenko, Fred, Marlos, Bernard; Alex Teixeira; Gladkiy.
Out: Kucher (suspended), Srna (suspended)
Doubtful: Malyshev (knee)

Real Madrid: Keylor Navas; Carvajal, Pepe, Varane, Nacho; Casemiro, Modrić, James Rodríguez; Bale, Jesé Rodríguez, Ronaldo
Out: Sergio Ramos (shoulder), Marcelo (groin), Arbeloa (omitted from squad)

Casemiro will most likely start the game as well after being left out last Saturday. His return should help the team's midfield, at least defensively. Kroos and Modric struggled against Barcelona and Casemiro could help them when Shakhtar try to control the tempo of the game through their midfield.
