INJURY UPDATE: Varane picks up hamstring injury

The French might be out for a while.

Very bad news for Real Madrid. With Sergio Ramos out, Rafa Benítez might have to add Raphaël Varane to his injury list after the French was forced to leave Wednesday's match against Shakhtar with hamstring problems. The player will run tests on that injury tomorrow but it looks like it could be a tear that would keep him out for a while depending on how big said tear is.

If Varane is out, expect Nacho and Pepe to play in the center of Real's defensive line for a while, at least until either Ramos or the French recover from their injuries. Considering that Marcelo is also injured, Danilo and Carvajal will both start, with the Brazilian playing on the left flank just like it happened this Wednesday when Varane left the game.

Real Madrid should publish a medical report on Varane as soon as the French visits the Hospital to run those tests.
