Devastating news for Real Madrid as Marcelo might be forced to miss the crucial Clásico against FC Barcelona after picking up a hamstring injury last night. The Brazilian left-back will almost surely miss Sunday's meeting with Sevilla and that would automatically update his status for El Clásico to questionable.
Marcelo has no backup in this roster and that would be very problematic for Rafa Benítez as neither Nacho nor Arbeloa have the quality to stop FC Barcelona's attackers. Dani Carvajal or Danilo could play there if needed but the Spanish is still recovering from the injury that forced him to leave the derby against Atlético.
This was meant to happen when Real Madrid decided not to sign another left-back this past summer. Marcelo has always been injury-prone and this proves that Madrid should've kept Fàbio Coentrao. It will not be easy for Los Blancos to replace Marcelo against Sevilla or FC Barcelona.
