Karim Benzema has nothing to do with the sex tape scandal shaking French football, said his lawyer. The striker was in France today to "respond the questions from the investigators, which is only natural," he added.
"Benzema is happy, even satisfied about putting and end to this controversy by answering those questions," the lawyer added. Benzema is arrested though, and he might have to stay in France for the next 48 hours until the people investigating the case get the answers they are looking for.
Benzema should be back in Madrid soon enough in order to continue with his recovery. All things considered, he seems to be highly questionable for Sunday's match against Sevilla, but he should be ready for El Clásico against Barça on November 21. His lawyer also said that Karim Benzema "is calm and answering every question they throw at him because he has nothing to do with the case."
