Cristiano Ronaldo will retire at Real Madrid, says Jorge Mendes

The agent denies the rumors about Ronaldo's departure.

Cristiano Ronaldo is happy with Real Madrid, as he has confirmed quite often lately. However, he has also said that "nobody knows what the future holds," something that has increased the rumors about Ronaldo's potential departure from Madrid. His agent Jorge Mendes thinks that Ronaldo will retire at Real Madrid, though. These quotes come from Sky Sports.

"There is lots of speculation and a new story every day," he said. "But if you ask me, I would say Cristiano will finish his career with Real Madrid and be there for many, many years." The agent also explained how Ronaldo's signing for United came to fruition.

"You have the wrong idea that Cristiano played a fantastic game against United and then afterwards they decided to buy him. It's not true. All the big clubs wanted Ronaldo, but Ferguson guaranteed him first-team games. I was with him the night before and he said, 'If you come with me, I guarantee he will play 50 per cent of the games'. That was the key," said Mendes.
