Real Madrid Squad Named for Champions League Round of 16 First Leg against Schalke 04

Real Madrid released the 20-men squad list for Wednesday's clash against Schalke 04. Contrary to reports, Martin Ødegaard did not make the cut.

Goalkeepers: Casillas, Keylor Navas and Pacheco.
Defenders: Varane, Pepe, Derik, Marcelo, Carvajal, Arbeloa and Nacho.
Midfielders: Kroos, Bale, Isco, Illarra, Medrán, Lucas Silva.
Attackers: Cristiano Ronaldo, Jesé, Benzema and Chicharito.

Good news for Carlo Ancelotti, as he recovers Pepe from injury. The Portuguese player will almost surely start the game, meaning that Nacho will be back on the bench unless Ancelotti decides to rest Dani Carvajal once again.

As the Italian coach announced during Saturday's post-match press conference, Marcelo is available and ready to play even after leaving the game against Deportivo with a knock on his calf. Lucas Silva could be ready to start his first match as a Real Madrid player if reports are to be believed, but it would be a strange move by Ancelotti to give him such chance considering how big of a game this is.
