Bad news for Real Madrid and Sergio Ramos, who will be put up to 6 weeks with a hamstring injury he picked up during the match against Sevilla. It all indicates that Ramos did not recover properly from this very same injury while Real Madrid were playing in the FIFA Club World Cup.

According to several reports, Ramos wanted to have some rest after the away game in Valencia, but Pepe's injury forced him to play and risk a further injury. Ramos will now miss the Round of 16 tie against Schalke 04, meaning that unless Pepe comes back soon enough, Varane and Nacho will have to start in the center of the defensive line. Ramos' hamstring problems have always been recurrent because of his willingness to play at all costs. Had he enjoyed some rest, the Spanish defender would have healed his injury the right way.

Ramos will surely try his best to be ready for El Clásico, but he should now be considered as questionable.
