  • Real Madrid just got back to work a few minutes ago with the objective of winning next Saturday's game against Deportivo in order to build a new winning streak that keeps them on top of the league table and helps them to move on to the Champions League quarterfinals. According to Marca, a disappointed Carlo Ancelotti will have a serious talk with his players to understand why they showed such a poor attitude against Atlético in the Madrid derby, and he will try to find a way to lift the spirit of his team for the decisive games to come. Still according to Marca, Real Madrid's president Florentino Pérez might show himself at Valdebebas this afternoon to take part in this conversation and ask both the players and the coaching staff for solutions.
  • And maybe one of the solutions for this crisis will be the debut of Lucas Silva. According to As, Sami Khedira left the Calderón with soreness in his hamstrings, so Illarramendi and Silva are the only options to partner with Kroos and Isco in Real Madrid's midfield. Perhaps the fresh air brought by the newbie will be a catalyst for Real Madrid's recovery.
  • Turning to some transfer talk, there is still some noise around the Gayà operation. There are some good news for Real Madrid as Valencia CF have not been able to make him sign a contract extension yet but, on the other hand, some competitors to get him next summer are showing up. The first one that has been reported is Manchester City's manager Manuel Pellegrini who, according to Daily Express, is willing to bring in the Spanish leftback as he is not happy with Kolarov or Clichy.
