According to reports from Germany, Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus is set to sign a contract extension with his club. This new contract would not include a buyout clause, so any club wanting to sign Marco Reus in the not-so-distant future would need to spend a lot more money that the current €25 million set on Reus' current contract.
Real Madrid were reported to be really interested in the German player, but if Reus does indeed sign a new contract with Dortmund, Los Blancos will likely stop their pursuit.
However, considering how bad Dortmund are looking this season, it would be a strange decision by Reus. Perhaps, all that he wants to do is improve Borussia's odds in a potential negotiation, because Klopp's side will not win any major trophies any time soon. Furthermore, Reus' salary could certainly be increased if he joins either Madrid or any other elite club in the Premier League, so take this with a grain of salt.
