Carvajal might start having some real competition for his spot very soon. According to reports from both Marca and As, Real Madrid are now leading the race for the Brazilian right back. While As indicate that Real Madrid and FC Porto are close to reaching a €30 million agreement, Marca report that the player has approved a potential move to the Bernabéu.
Still, it will not be easy to complete the deal, as FC Porto's President Pinto Da Costa is a tough negotiator and one that always wants ti get one extra million. He uses Daniel Levy's strategy, so expect Da Costa to ask for more money when everything appears to be all but confirmed.
Real Madrid desperately need a backup right back, but both Danilo and Carvajal might be too good for that role. Considering how reluctant Ancelotti is when it comes to make rotations, this would be a strange move that would certainly stop either one's development.
Danilo: great player, an updated version of 2009-2010's Maicon. Do Real Madrid need him with Carvajal developing this way? I think not.

If Danilo finally joins Real Madrid, it will be interesting to see how he fights for a starting spot with Carvajal, one of the best young right backs in the sport right now.
