Real Madrid news Friday, April 17th: Ancelotti says Real Madrid could sign a new goalkeeper

And David de Gea is, obviously, the main candidate.

  • As we reported this morning, our coach said last night in an interview that Casillas would lose his starting spot if Real Madrid signs a better goalkeeper in summer. The main candidate is, as you already know, David de Gea, whose contract with Manchester United expires in June 2016 and has not signed an extension yet. Jugones reported that the goalkeeper has told Real Madrid he wants to sign for Los Blancos. While we don't want to compare both goalkeepers right now, Youtube is kind enough to let us watch their most impressive saves this season.

  • Gareth Bale, who had missed yesterday's training session, did not have any problem this morning and practiced with the expected intensity, and should therefore be a starter tomorrow in Real Madrid's crucial game against Málaga CF. Ancelotti has not made up his mind yet about who will replace Benzema.

  • With his free-kick against Eibar last Saturday, Cristiano Ronaldo reached his 300th goal since he became a Real Madrid player. Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez attended this morning's training session to give him a T-shirt to celebrate such a milestone.
