According to several British outlets, Manchester United have offered a big €14 million/year contract to David De Gea, who was refused that proposal. Van Gaal is quoted saying this:
Anything can happen, it doesn't depend on me. I'm not the one who decides, I want him to stay, but he will make a decision. You don't have to ask me about it, ask him, because we offered a lot of money.
There are no financial reasons that could lead De Gea to refuse that offer. It seems quite clear that the Spanish goalkeeper wants to join Real Madrid this summer in what would be a great signing for Los Blancos. Only time will tell if what now seems clear becomes reality in three or four months.

Considering De Gea's current contract expires in 2016, Real Madrid could afford his signing for a very reasonable price, although United will surely try to include some players like Bale in the deal.
