Although it seemed that Los Blancos were fine with Ronaldo having been booked yesterday against Rayo Vallecano for, according to the referee, having pretended to be fouled inside the box by Amaya, Real Madrid has just officially confirmed that a formal appeal to that yellow card will be made.

This yellow card was the fifth Cristiano Ronaldo has been shown in La Liga this season and, therefore, it would have made him miss next Saturday's game against Eibar, like Toni Kroos and James Rodríguez will. Given that the video images clearly prove that Ronaldo does not fall on purpose, it seems quite likely that the ban will be lifted and he will be able to increase his scoring streak in two days. The final resolution will, in principle, be published tomorrow.
