This report is somewhat surprising. De Gea seems more than willing to join Real Madrid, but Los Blancos will need to find an answer to Iker Casillas' situation before that happens. The ball appears to be on Real's court, not on De Gea's, meaning that if Casillas stays in Madrid, United's star will probably snub the move, as he wants to avoid what he believes will be an unfair fight for the starting spot.
Real Madrid are expected to sign the Spanish keeper this summer, parting ways with Casillas as well. Casillas would be free to leave and join Arsenal FC or Major League Soccer if reports from Spain are to be believed.
