Real Madrid sign Uruguayan wonder kid

Federico Valverde will join Real Madrid in 2016, when he turns 18.

Real Madrid have completed the signing of Uruguayan wonder kid Federico Valverde, according to several reports from Spain. He was in Madrid last week to watch Real Madrid's draw against Juventus live at the Bernabéu. Real will pay €5 million to get him away from Peñarol, although the young midfielder will join Real Madrid in July 2016, when he turns 18.

Valverde is a skilled midfielder who could also play on the right flank of Real Madrid's attack. He doesn't have much pace but his passing and finishing is very good for his age. Valverde is the star of Uruguay U17 and it will be interesting to see how he develops as a player.

He is similar to James Rodríguez. Valverde obviously still has to grow and improve as a player but he could have James' passing and finishing abilities in the midfield and right flank. He will probably join Castilla in 2016 instead of being a first-team player.
