Last night, Real Madrid's captain and goalkeeper was interviewed at the Santiago Bernabéu by José Ramón de la Morena, from Cadena Ser show El Larguero. Here are some of the most relevant quotes from that conversation.

About his continuity in Real Madrid:

I don't believe I need to leave the club. I have already said that I want to finish my career in Real Madrid. I spoke to José Ángel Sánchez a few days ago regarding all the rumours about my continuity in Real Madrid, and he confirmed that the managing board wants me to stay.

About possible signings and his situation in the team:

The president has asked me about other goalkeepers a few times, and I always tend to give value to Spanish goalkeepers. I like a lot players like Asenjo or Sergio Rico, and obviously De Gea, who is not only a great prospect but one of the best goalkeepers in the world right now.

Of course I would accept to be a bench player. There is no clause in my contract that says I need to be in the starting lineup every game Real Madrid plays. If any other goalkeeper comes, I will welcome him and later on we will fight for a spot.

About the fans' whistles:

My reaction was spontaneous. It was a tough night because we were losing a crucial game and I was unhappy, but I was only thinking of what is the best for the club.

About the toughest moment he has lived recently:

I suffered a lot when we lost against Slovakia with the Spanish National Team with a mistake I made.

About Ancelotti leaving the club:

A great coach with a great character leaves the club. We wish him the best.
