Rafa Benítez will coach his last game for SSC Napoli this next Sunday, when his team host Lazio in a decisive match that will decide which team earns a spot in next year's edition of the UEFA Champions League. The Spanish coach confirmed his departure during Thursday's press conference alongside Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis, although Benítez did not want to talk about his future.
Benítez is expected to sign a two-year deal with Real Madrid next week, and he will sign as a free agent. The manager spent two seasons with Napoli and although his debut campaign was a fruitful one, his Napoli side has been a disappointment during this ongoing year.
He will now coach the world's best player and the best roster he's ever had, so Benítez will surely feel confident about his chances. Real Madrid fans aren't that confident though. Benítez will have to earn the fans' support during his first weeks as Real's coach.
