FC Porto want to keep Casemiro, and they activated the clause that could keep the midfielder in the Portuguese side. However, Real Madrid will likely decide to retain Casemiro by executing yet another clause on the contract, as FC Porto's official statement reports.
FC Porto informed Real Madrid they intend to acquire the pass of midfielder Casemiro. The contract signed between both clubs, however, has a clause that allows the Spanish club to retain the player, should they indemnify FC Porto, so the decision is now on Real Madrid.
Casemiro, 23 years old, is a Brazilian international star and played for FC Porto this season on a loan from Real Madrid, being called for 41 matches and scoring four goals. The contract has a release fee, which was now activated by FC Porto and communicated to Real Madrid. The release fee has a clause that allows the Spanish club to refuse the intention to buy, should they indemnify FC Porto.
It will be interesting to see what Real Madrid do with Casemiro.
