Report: Raheem Sterling likely to join Real Madrid this summer

Rafa Benítez is really interested in the winger, according to BILD.

Raheem Sterling was on Bayern Munich's shortlist to improve Pep Guardiola's flanks, but according to German newspaper BILD, the winger is likely to join Real Madrid this summer given Rafa Benítez's interest in the player.

Sterling is determined to leave Liverpool FC after declining a contract extension. Both Manchester United and Manchester City want to sign the winger, but Real Madrid could also make a strong offer if Benítez's interest is confirmed.

BILD have some reliable sources within Bayern Munich, so the German club is probably aware of Real's willing to sign Sterling, just like it happened last summer with Keylor Navas.

Benítez will likely turn Cristiano Ronaldo into a center-striker, so it would make sense to have two pure wingers crossing the ball. If Bale finally returns to the left wing, Sterling could be deployed in the right flank if this rumor finally becomes a done deal and Sterling signs for Real Madrid.
