Just when everything seemed to be settled for De Gea to complete his move to Real Madrid this next summer, British newspaper The Sun has reported that the Spanish goalkeeper will sign a two-year extension with Manchester United, meaning that his new contract would end in 2018.

If this report is to be believed, De Gea would earn €11 million/year in Old Trafford. Although The Sun are somewhat close to Manchester United, this report should be taken with a grain of salt. De Gea has been on Real Madrid's radar for a while and he has also been reluctant to sign this extension with United.
If De Gea finally signs this extension, Real Madrid's plans for the goalkeeper position would be seriously affected, as Los Blancos wanted him to be the goalkeeper from next season on.
