It's now official. Karim Benzema will miss the first leg against Juventus with a knee injury. Real Madrid released the squad list for that match.
Goalkeepers: Casillas, Keylor Navas and Pacheco.
Defenders: Varane, Ramos, Pepe, Coentrão, Carvajal, Arbeloa, Marcelo and Nacho.
Midfielders: Kroos, James, Bale, Lucas Silva, Isco and Illarra.
Attackers: Cristiano Ronaldo, Jesé and Chicharito.
With Benzema out, it will be interesting to see what Ancelotti does with his offensive line, as he could choose to play under a 4-4-2 formation with Ronaldo and Bale upfront and James and Isco on the wings. That would give Real Madrid more control. However, some could argue that Chicharito has earned the chance to start in this game after his recent performances, and if he starts with Bale and Ronaldo, one player out of Isco and James would be dropped.
Luka Modric and Karim Benzema are out of the list with injuries, while Khedira has been left out of the squad too.
