Carlo Ancelotti decided to make no experiments against Juventus and chose his preferred lineup given the absences of key players as Luka Modric and Karim Benzema. He keeps trusting in Marcelo ahead of Coentrao at the leftback, Sergio Ramos repeats as a midfielder alongside Toni Kroos, and a fully recovered Gareth Bale takes Chicharito Hernández's spot upfront. The Mexican will stay on the bench in case Los Blancos need an offensive substitution to trigger a comeback in the second half, together with Coentrao, Jesé, Arbeloa, Lucas Silva, Illarramendi and Keylor Navas.
Max Allegri finally decided to stick to his favorite 4-3-1-2 formation, with the surprising Sturaro acting as a trequartista, and to leave Llorente on the bench and chose former Real Madrid player Álvaro Morata to pair with Carlos Tévez upfront.
