Real Madrid could announce the deal with Rafa Benítez today. The Spanish coach left Italy this morning and he's already in Madrid ready to meet his agent and Real's board to agree the terms for his new deal.
Benítez is expected to sign a two-year deal with Real Madrid worth €4 million/year. Real's newest coach did not have a great end of the season with Napoli after failing to earn a spot in next year's Champions League with a 2-4 defeat against Lazio.
It will be interesting to see what Benítez has in mind for this squad, considering the amount of talent that will be at his disposal. Known for being a defensive-minded coach, Benítez could try to adapt to his roster and play offensive football, although he will surely build a solid squad as well. After all, Real Madrid conceded way too many goals this last season and that's what ultimately cost them the Liga title.
