Wales is a nation with fairly minimal international success when it comes to football but Real Madrid's Gareth Bale is stepping up and trying to change that. In what many view as a tough, but key, match versus Belgium, Bale took his chance thanks to his advantageous positioning and put Wales up 1-0.
Of all the Welsh players you could leave unattended, Gareth Bale probably isn’t the best pick. To wit: http://t.co/CxPg2y3YpC #WALBEL

Bale took his shot (with his weak foot to boot) following a bizarre Radja Nianggolan header which was heading nowhere. This is Bale's fifth goal of European qualifications, one behind Danny Welbeck, and his 17th goal in 50 appearances for his national team. He's also scored in six of the last seven matches for Wales. If they are to qualify for the Euros, it will certainly have to be on the back of the Real Madrid superstar.
