Keylor Navas has a new friend in town. Real Madrid have hired Luis Llopis, the former Levante UD goalkeeper coach, to be the new Director of Goalkeepers throughout the whole Real Madrid academy. Given that Benítez brought a new coach for his staff, Real Madrid needed to create that position for Llopis.
Llopis and Navas worked together when the Costa Rican was playing for Levante, and they get along really well. Does this mean Navas will stay? Most likely, because it would not make to create said new position and appoint one of Navas' friends otherwise.
Real Madrid are trying to change the way the goalkeepers work through the academy, as they want to find good prospects within the youth system. They are obviously expected to sign David De Gea this summer as well, meaning that Iker Casillas most likely will leave the club if Navas finally stays. Changes are coming.
